The book Prophecy of the Great Alexander (Pretskazanie na Golem Aleksandar) is a 1845 publication translated and edited by the Macedonian monk Yeromonah Atanas Makedonec in Venice. Presented as a translation of an ancient manuscript discovered in a golden box during excavations in Babylon, it attributes prophetic visions to Alexander the Great, detailing significant historical events from his era onward, future predictions (including the end of the world), and high praise for his homeland of Macedonia. Atanas, identifying as a fellow Macedonian, adapted the text into the Macedonian language to make it accessible and spiritually beneficial.
