Karposh's Uprising (Карпошевото Востание) by Dragan Tashkovski is a historical work detailing the brief anti-Ottoman rebellion led by the haiduk Karposh in October 1689, amid the Great Turkish War.
Taking advantage of Austrian advances, Karposh and his rebels captured several towns including Kriva Palanka, Kratovo, and Kumanovo, establishing a fortress and briefly proclaiming Karposh as "King of Kumanovo."
The uprising spread across the region but was quickly suppressed by Ottoman forces, resulting in Karposh's execution in Skopje by impalement.
