The Party Gathers by Gjorgji Dimchevski is a music collection of harmonized and arranged Macedonian folk songs, published in Skopje in 1986. The work presents folk songs as a living part of Macedonian musical tradition, adapted for choral and stage performance.
Particular attention is given to komitadji, partisan, and urban folk songs, including examples such as Izlegol Delchev Vojvoda, Majka rodi mashko chedo, Tatuncho strashen vojvoda, and Bitola moj roden kraj. The collection preserves the folk melodic base while arranging it through harmony and musical structure intended for ensembles and cultural-artistic societies.
The book has musicological and cultural-documentary value as a source for studying Macedonian folk song, its stage adaptation, and its place in twentieth-century cultural practice. It is useful for research on folklore, choral tradition, and the institutional preservation of Macedonian musical heritage.
