White Dawns (Бели мугри) by Kočo Racin is a pioneering collection of 12 poems published in 1939 in Samobor, near Zagreb (then Kingdom of Yugoslavia), with 4,000 copies printed under the pseudonym "K. Racin" and a red title reflecting communist influences. Written in contemporary Macedonian, the poems draw on folk traditions to depict the struggles of impoverished workers and peasants, themes of social injustice, rural hardship, and revolutionary hope. It marks a foundational work in modern Macedonian literature, being the third such poetry collection and the most translated book from North Macedonia, featuring notable pieces like "Lenka," "The Tobacco Harvesters," and "Elegies for You."
