The Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MANU) is the highest national institution in the fields of science and the arts in Macedonia, headquartered in Skopje. It was established in 1967 by decision of the authorities, with the mission to promote, support, and advance the development of sciences and arts.
MANU coordinates and supports scientific research and artistic activity, contributes to the advancement of scholarly thought and cultural life, and plays an important role in the preservation, study, and promotion of Macedonian cultural, linguistic, and historical heritage. The Academy also maintains an extensive publishing program and carries out numerous research projects, studies, and long-term initiatives.
